YORK, N.Y. (September 8, 2009) – Meet Natasha,
Roan, Julie, Lucy and Brittney – the newest characters from bestselling author and renowned storyteller, Candace Bushnell. On September 9, log
on to www.Maybelline.com/TheBroadroom for the world premiere of Ms. Bushnell’s new web series, ‘The
Broadroom.’ The webisodes take a humorous look at women in the workplace addressing everything from breast feeding,
to relationships, to male bosses. They will also leave you guessing: ‘What’s in the box?’ The
four-part series features an accomplished ensemble cast of women from television and theatre including Jennie Garth (‘Beverly
Hills, 90210’); Jennifer Esposito (‘Samantha Who?’); Talia Balsam (‘Mad Men’); Broadway actress
Mary McCann; and introducing Lauren Devereux. The launch dates for the four webisodes are September 9, September 25, October
9 and October 23. The webisodes were written by Ms. Bushnell, produced by Meredith Corporation in association with Co.Op TV,
and directed by Ellen Gittelsohn, noted director of some of TV’s most acclaimed comedies including ‘Roseanne,’
‘Designing Women,’ and ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.’ More magazine and Ms.
Bushnell partnered to create ‘The Broadroom’ in collaboration with Hyperion/Voice (publisher of Lipstick Jungle,
Trading Up, and One Fifth Avenue). The series is presented exclusively by Maybelline New York and their new
Color Sensational Lip Color. ‘While the workplace is the backdrop for these webisodes, women everywhere will recognize
something about themselves in these characters,’ More Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour commented. ‘Candace
has created funny and relatable situations that will get watercooler conversations started all over the world – that’s
the beauty of the Internet!’ ‘Women today – with all that they juggle at home and at work – lead such
complex and colorful lives.’ says Deborah Marquardt, Vice President Integrated Communications, Maybelline New York *
Garnier. ‘Candace has once again captured the emotions, challenges and humor that come with balancing our personal
and professional lives. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color is thrilled to be a part of this series saluting fabulous,
confident women.’ Ms. Bushnell is the international best-selling author whose first book, Sex and the City, was
the basis for the enormously successful HBO television series and subsequent blockbuster movie. Her fourth book, Lipstick
Jungle, (Voice) became a popular series on NBC. Ms. Bushnell’s novels include Four Blondes, Trading
Up (Voice), and her most recent bestseller, One Fifth Avenue (Voice), just released in paperback. Ellen
Archer, founder of Voice and President and Publisher of Hyperion says, ‘Candace is a wonderful writer and satirist whose
work is very appealing to women across many platforms - on the page, on the screen, and now on the Internet.’
Ms. Bushnell recently joined More Magazine as a contributor, and will be writing for the magazine’s September
and October issues on a range of topics. On September 9, Ms. Bushnell, More Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour and
Maybelline New York will host an exclusive Webisode Premiere Party in New York.’"
